II. TICKETS CATEGORY AND EXPLANATION
| |
| THSRC is selling the contactless smart cards which will allow the cardholder to travel within the effective period and specific section of stations for unlimited rides on the Taiwan High Speed Rail. The card is sold in the registered (name-bearing) form. Adult tickets only, and not applicable for rides between Banqiao and Taipei. |
| |
| The effective period for the aforementioned special preference starts on the day of first use after the initial purchase or the ensuing replenishment of value, and expires after 30 consecutive days. The number of rides is unlimited. The discounted fare for the preferential ticket is close to the equivalent of 52% off of the total sum of 30 days of the full fare for the Reserved Standard Seat ticket, with an estimate of 2 rides per day. |

The cap of value addition: This card only stores the effective period, without the function of storing value in cash. |

III. PURCHASE, ENSUING RPLENISHMENT OF VALUE, CHANGE AND REFUND, LOSS CLAIM AND INFORMATION INQUIRY

| 1. |
PURCHASE: |
| (1). |
The purchase process is as follows: |
| a. |
To fill out the application form for registered card at the service desk of a station, or download the application form from the corporate website and fill out the form to submit it at the ticket windows of a station. |
| b. |
One can come to the station oneself or have someone else to come to the station to purchase the ticket. He or his proxy shall take the intended cardholder’s valid photo ID with one 2” photo taken in 6 months to be verified against the information provided on the application form and for the making of the ticket. If one has no photo available, he should be present in person at the station for the THSRC staff to take his photo for making the ticket (no extra charge needed, but no additional film touch-up, development, filing and reproduction services provided). |
| c. |
After making payment for the ticket and NT$100 for card-making cost (non-refundable), you may receive the card at the spot. Please fill in the cardholder’s name at the proper space if the cardholder’s name can not be printed on the card. |

| 2. |
ENSUING REPLENISHMENT OF VALUE: |
| After the expiration of the original effective period, the cardholder can add value to the original ticket. However, before the effective period is used up, no value can be added. |

|
| 3. |
CHANGE AND REFUND: |
| (1). |
Periodic Ticket once sold can not accept any changes. If a cardholder requests certain changes on the card, he/she can only do that by following the refund process and repurchase a new ticket with the requested information. |
| (2). |
The refund of Periodic Ticket can only be accepted during the effective period of the ticket and requested by the registered cardholder. No refund after the expiration period. |
| (3). |
Except otherwise regulated, the calculation of a refund shall follow the formula below:
The actual payment received – (days of use x twice of full fare of non-reserved seat between specific section of stations + NT $20 administration cost) = the refund (if the final balance is a negative sum then there is no refund).

(4).
|
The ‘days of use’ shall mean the number of days of the first day of initial use after the purchase or ensuing value replenishment to the day of refund of the ticket. If there is never any usage of ticket after the purchase or ensuing value replenishment, the days of use are ‘0’. Once the ticket is used, the day of refund shall be considered as day of use, no refund can be made for that particular day. |
| (5). |
The card of Periodic Ticket can not be returned and no refund for the card itself can be made. |

| 4. |
LOSS CLAIM: |
| (1). |
When a Periodic Ticket is lost, the registered cardholder shall come to a THSRC station or call the service hotline (representative number: 4066-3000) himself to claim loss of the card and to stop the usage of it accordingly. In case someone else assumes the identity of the cardholder and uses the card after the claimed loss, THSRC will bear the said loss risk. Once the card is reported lost, no cancellation of loss claim can be made. |
| (2). |
After accepting the loss claim, the cardholder may choose to have either a refund or re-issuance of a new card. In case the cardholder chooses to have a refund, THSRC will calculate the remaining balance of Periodic Ticket’s value in accordance with the section 3 of Article III, and refund the same to the registered cardholder. In case the cardholder chooses to be re-issued a new card, THSRC will re-issue a new card carrying the balance effective period. The cardholder needs to pay an extra NT$100 for the card-making. |
| (3). |
If a cardholder has more than one Periodic Ticket, and can not provide with more definite data for THSRC to decide which Periodic Ticket exactly is lost, THSRC can refuse to accept such a loss claim. |

| 5. |
INQUIRY OF TRANSACTION DATA:The cardholder can take the Periodic Ticket to the enquiry machine or a ticket window at any station to verify the records of usage. |

IV. EXPIRATION OF SPECIAL PREFERENCE
| |
calculated in accordance with the number of consecutive days. Periodic Ticket shall remain effective till the expiration of business hours of the 30th day from the first day of the initial use after the purchase or ensuing value replenishment. |
V. RULES OF USE
| |
| 1. |
The Periodic Ticket card is one of the contactless smart cards. Please hold the card to move it to touch off the sensor area of the ticket gate. Once the sensor recognizes the validity of your card, it will open the gate flips automatically. |
| 2. |
The Periodic Ticket is restricted for use on non-reserved seats only. However, if THSRC announces the cancellation of all-day non-reserved seats service due to the need of service quality during the continuous holiday periods, we will extend the effective period of the Periodic Ticket commensurate with the days of all cabs reserved seats only. Customers may apply for extension of the effective date of its Ticket the day after the expiration date of the current Ticket. However, if no non-reserved seat is sold for that particular date, the extension of the effective date of the Ticket may be put off until the first day of which the non-reserved seat resumes its sale again. The exact dates of possible processing of extension of effective date may be found via the website announcement of THSRC or checked with THSRC’s customer services hotline. |
| 3. |
The Periodic Ticket is good for unlimited rides during the effective period. However, if the cabs encounter operation interruption, changes, delays due to the fault of THSRC or interruptions of rides because of the injury or the sickness, there’s no refund or compensation for the cardholder. On the other hand, if any continuous break of services of more than 5 (inclusive) days caused by force majeure or other temporary factors during the effective period of the Periodic Ticket, the affected cardholders can ask for an extension of the effective period of their Periodic Ticket at any ticket window. The extension will start on the next day (inclusive) of the expiration of the original effective period of preference and end after the number of days that corresponds to the ones of the service break. If no extension of effective period is ever requested, the card loses its validity after the expiration date. |
| 4. |
The cardholder shall complete his travel in less than 3 hours and 30 minutes starting from the moment he launches his trip till the end of it. |
| 5. |
Please keep your Periodic Ticket at good conditions and avoid smear, folding, scratch, wear and tear, exposure to high temperature and damages caused by the unwanted twists. If your card has experienced such an impact and can not be read for information, no refund and/or re-issuance of the card can be made for your sake. No refund to nor re-issuance of the Ticket will be made and/or THSRC may reserve the rights to reject the customer for boarding if it is found that the Ticket experiences the above difficulties due to deliberate vandalism. |
| 6. |
The registered card of Periodic Ticket can only be used by the registered cardholder himself. It can not be transferred, loaned, bestowed and/or offered for use to any other third party. If it is found that the Periodic Ticket has been used by the non-cardholder, the third party user will have to pay as a no-ticket customer for not only making up the payment for the ride from the starting station to the destination station, but also an additional 50% of the fare for the ride he has taken. Moreover, the Periodic Ticket is taken back and all the consequent losses shall be born by the registered cardholder himself. However, if the cardholder can prove that the third party has used the card without his knowledge or consent, he can have the Periodic Ticket back. |

VI. CUSTOMER’S INFORMATION

| 1. |
The registered cardholder agrees to provide his basic information to the Company in order for the Company to offer information services, statistical operations and market analysis, etc. |
| 2. |
If the registered cardholder’s information has changed, he should let the Company know in order to maintain his rights and benefits. If the registered cardholder has changed his address or any contact information after he filled out the application form without informing Company, the Company may take the registered cardholder’s last registered address on the application form as the cardholder’s contact information. |
| 3. |
In order to protect the registered cardholder’s personal data and privacy, the Company shall not provide, lend or sell the registered cardholder’s personal information to any third party that is unrelated to the transaction or service, unless the registered cardholder agrees or it is required by the laws, or the Company believes out of its good will that it is required by the laws to disclose such an information. |
| 4. |
Some of the cardholder’s personal information is going to be stored or printed on the Periodic Ticket card, the cardholder shall keep the card safely. |

VII. CUSTOMER SERVICES

| 1. |
Every time the cardholder uses the card, the ticket gate will show the effective period of the special preference of Periodic Ticket. The cardholder can also check the use records on the enquiry machines. |
| 2. |
The Company has saved all the money received for selling the Periodic Tickets to the special trust account at the Bank of Taiwan. The money is going to be used for the special purpose of Periodic Ticket. The so-called ‘special purpose’ shall mean that the money is going be used to satisfy its service obligations by the Issuer. |
| 3. |
If the Company is subject to cease of operations, shutdown, dissolution, reorganization, declared bankruptcy, revocation of registration, or any matters that are either confirmed by the court or authorized by the ruling agency that might affect THSRC’s obligations in carrier services, the property of the abovementioned trust and its right to receive benefits shall be transferred to the Periodic Ticket cardholders at large starting from the day of happenstance of the listed situations above, and the trustees shall take charge of liquidating and returning of remaining balance of the trust to the interested parties. |

VIII. MISCELLANEOUS

| 1. |
If the Guidelines ever need revisions or modifications, THSRC shall publish such changes, the content of articles and the effective dates, etc. on the corporate websites and at the stations. |
| 2. |
Unless it is regulated otherwise herein, the rest of operations shall abide by the regulations of the Passenger Information, Passenger Transportation Rules and any relevant laws and rulings accordingly. |
