Periods Open for Booking::
Normal tickets: twenty-eight days prior to the date of departure (for instance, for a ticket on Friday, the booking is open on the Friday 2 weeks in advance) to the day of departure (the sales of tickets with reserved seats will cease 5 minutes before departure of the particular train).
Group tickets: Please refer to relevant regulations on Group Ticketing.
Confirmation of Ticket Information:
Please confirm “date, time, departure/arrival station, number of tickets, type of ticket” and provide the information to the ticketing clerk.
Notice for Purchasing Tickets:
The Ticket Window sells normal tickets (adult ticket, senior ticket, disabled ticket, children ticket) and group tickets. (Please refer to Details on Types of Tickets and the necessary ID documents)
Senior citizens above the age of 65 are able to purchase senior tickets at half price of adult tickets on the day of departure, by presenting their government issued ID documents with photo, date of birth and ID number. Foreign passengers are also eligible to purchase senior tickets with ID documents such as a passport.
Physically and mentally disabled nationals and one of their custodians or companions are eligible to purchase disabled tickets at half price of adult tickets, provided that they produce the disability handbook.
Children under 12 years old are eligible for the children tickets, for children who are under 12 years old, but are over 150cm in height, they must present ID documents (such as National Health Insurance card or booklet of registered residence) to purchase the tickets and to take the train, children tickets are calculated at half the price of adult tickets.
Children whose height is less than 115cm, and children who are more than 115cm in height but less than 6 years old, may be exempted from tickets with their ID documents under the circumstances that such children do not take a seat, provided that they shall be escorted by passengers who have purchased the adult tickets or are adults. However, when the children who are qualified to be exempted from tickets as escorted by passengers are more than two persons, the excess shall purchase childrens tickets. Furthermore, the number of children who are qualified to be exempted from tickets as escorted by adult passengers, as a group, is limited to one-fourth of the group.
The Ticket Window accepts payments via cash, credit card or debit card (Note).
After purchasing the tickets, please confirm the correctness of the ticket and change.
(Note): The Ticket Window only accepts VISA, Master Card, JCB , American Express credit cards and China UnionPay Card. In terms of debit cards, only non-designated account Smart Cards are accepted, please make sure that the debit card is open for transfer transactions. Passengers paying by debit card will be charged a NT$17 inter-bank transfer fee (Fubon Financial, Taishin Bank and Mega Bank are free from inter-bank transfer fee).
Notice for Application for Change of Ticket:
After the purchase of normal tickets and before the expiration of the ticket, passengers who have not yet used the ticket and wish to apply for change of ticket, please proceed to the Ticket Window with the original ticket. For reserved seats, the procedure must be completed at least 30 minutes before departure, for non-reserved seats, the procedure must be completed before the closing time of the ticket booth on the day of departure.
After purchasing group tickets, and before the expiry of the ticket, any passenger who has not yet used the ticket and wishes to apply for change of ticket, please proceed to the Ticket Window with all of the original tickets at least one day prior to departure.
The first change is free of charge, however the second change requires a refund and repurchase of tickets, hence a surcharge of NT$20 per ticket will be charged.
Notice for Ticket Refunds:
After the purchase of normal tickets and before the expiration of the ticket, any passenger who has not yet used the ticket and wishes to apply for refund of ticket, please proceed to the Ticket Window with the original ticket. For reserved seats, the procedure must be completed at least 30 minutes before departure, for non-reserved seats, the procedure must be completed before the closing time of the ticket booth on the day of departure.
After the purchase of group tickets, and before the expiry of the ticket, any passenger who has not yet used the ticket and wishes to apply for refund of ticket, please proceed to the Ticket Window with all of the original tickets at least 2 hours prior to departure.
A surcharge of NT$20 per ticket will be charged for ticket refund.
Notice for Application of “Proof of Ticket Purchase or Refund”:
When purchasing or applying for ticket refunds, the passenger may approach the Ticket Window or service counter to apply for “Proof of Ticket Purchase or Refund”, limited to one copy.
Ticket which has been applied for “Proof of Ticket Purchase or Refund”, when applying for changes or cancellation, the original “Proof of Ticket Purchase or Refund” should be returned.
